It has been far too long since we ate in Veni Vici and we happened to go in there at 6pm. Between 5 -7pm they still have their Earlybird Menu which is excellent value. Two courses for 35tl and a good choice on there. I ordered the Sweet Chilli Chicken to start and followed this by Loin of Pork in Lemon and Mustard. I can only say that both dishes were delicious and very good value for the quality of the food.

Yes, we are in Cyprus but several of the hotels are offering afternoon tea and we went along with friends.

Another visit to what really is our favourite restaurant in north Cyprus. It scores high on every count, the welcome, the food and the ambiance even on a chilly March evening when the log burner was roaring. It’s a place where you can feel that you really are in north Cyprus and not just another touristy place to eat.

We went to Supreme Supermarket in Çatalköy and as it was such a miserable day, we decided to have lunch out and went to the restaurant next door…The Kitchen. A previous visit in the height of summer found us having a fantastic meal. Of course on this occasion we ate indoors as the rain was lashing down outside. The waiters are helpful and friendly and straight away brought us 3 types of bread, olives and dip. They took our drinks order but we were more than suprised that they don’t sell Efes!! We did remark that in the “old days” here one of the waiters would have run next door and bought a few at the supermarket and made a tidy profit along with pleasing the customer. Of course over the years things have changed so we had a bottle of water instead.
