Two years ago today Judge Talat Usar declared the mortgages on the Kulaksiz 5 properties owned by British Pensioners were FRAUDULENT. Two years on we are still waiting for this judgement to be either ratified or overturned by the High Court who heard the Appeal lodged by Akfinans Bank LImited on the 4th October 2016. It looks as if Christmas will come and go with us still WAITING.
Our grandson was visiting North Cyprus last week and as we drove him around we were surprised to hear him making comments about driving habits here. The biggest cry of horror was when he saw a young child not wearing a crash helment balanced precariously on a motor cycle. All around him he experienced first hand the kind of driving behaviour which would result in drivers losing points and eventually their licenses in the UK, and not a policeman in sight.
The Cyprus Problem latest news indicates that while only a few problems in the Cyprus dispute have to be resolved they are proving that the Cyprus conflict is far from a conclusion. With Turkey threatening to annex the north if there is no solution in the next few weeks the failure of the current talks are worrying for the whole island.
If ever there was a signal from the current North Cyprus government that they did not want unity with the south, the changing of the time zone is it. At a time when the government is pretending it wants unity the move to change to Turkey’s time zone tells us that whatever is being said, its actions say otherwise. It says that the north has a Turkish motherland fixation much as it accuses the south of having a Greek motherland fixation.
Yet another set of property scam victims anxiously await the outcome of the Kulaksiz 5 v Akfinans Bank Limited Appeal, heard on the 4th October 2016. There are many, many cases awaiting this important judgement which could create a precedent.
So many of your will recall the entire Hate page group set up to harass me when I lived in the TRNC. Facebook condoned it by refusing to remove it despite many complaints, not least by myself who was the target of this group. They felt it did not violate their rules. Odd that they think it is okay to harass a then 69 year pensioner.
Incredible though it seems, it is now six years to the day since poor Laura the laptop was seized from her home and thrown into Girne nick for an alleged crime there were never any charges for. Even more incredible, and despite many attempts to secure her release she is still in the possession of Girne Police…well if you believe she has not already been given away as a present to someone.
