In line with my promise not to write an article on the ISO9001 issue and having expected it to be printed today, I am merely itemising emails in chronological order for you to be able to come to your own conclusions. I am sure Malcolm will confirm that he has put a little ‘pressure’ on me to do this.
Tues 24 August 2010 email from WCS’s Turkish Office :
Finally I can write to you about this company. Mehmet Ali was trying to connect with the company since Monday but he couldn’t reach company representatives (it’s been said that they were in court etc.) So he sent them a warning letter about not to use our logos but they did not respond our calls or fax. Mehmet Ali called our lawyer today, he said that we can’t do anything about this situation because we don’t have a branch or brand registration in Cyprus. So we can’t do anything about this, maybe you can do something.
Mon 6 Sept 2010 email from WCS World Certification Services
I can confirm that the company Talat Kursat is not and has never been ISO9001 registered with World Certification Services. When we were informed they were using our logo we contacted our Turkish office to deal with this matter, I have included their reply below. We are currently reviewing the situation to see which way we can proceed with this situation.
Kind regards
Tues 7 September 2010 email from WCS
NQA is a UKAS accredited certification body and I believe that they operate in Cyprus. I have added a link to their website below. This does not explain why Talat Kursat were using the logo of WCS as NQA have their own logos(certification is not shared amongst certification bodies), once a certificate is issued the logos are sent out with it. Perhaps you can contact NQA to confirm that they originally issued certification to Talat Kursat.
Kind regards

I am most grateful to you for bringing this to our attention and very saddened to hear about your experiences with this firm.
I am visiting Cyprus next week and will take the time to visit this firm in an effort to stop them using our logo.
Best regards.
