I was just thinking of getting another cold Vitamin E(fes) from the fridge when I caught sight of the hillside in flames. Neighbours told me that an electricity transformer had overheated, exploded and the oil filled contents adding fuel to the tinder dry surroundings. Fortunately no one was hurt and as far as I know no property was damaged. Power was out for a good three hours on Friday night in the area, but came back on again around midnight.
We went and had a look the following morning and the smell of charred undergrowth was over-powering as we drove up the hill towards my favourite builder’s hillside site. Give them their due, Kibtek were working flat out in the blazing sun to restore power. The fire-fighters did a very professional job in extinguishing a (for me anyway) big fire.
