NCFP Book Review | The Quiet Way by Robin MelhuishNCFP Book Review – The Quiet Way by Robin Melhuish

I have just finished reading the latest novel by author, NCFP contributor and ex-pat resident Robin Melhuish. A thought provoking and not altogether comfortable read, but the sort of book you cannot put down until you finish it.

The book is a cross between Rankin’s Rebus and Le Carré’s Smiley. DCI Alan Hanks attempts to put the world to rights. Successfully? That is the $64,000 question. An enjoyable read, which left me with a great feeling of unease. Did it answer the question of Justice or Revenge? Cracking story, very funny in parts, if it wasn’t the sad truth that is. The characters live, the scientific stuff is heavy going but I reckon well researched and the terrorist plot is just scary. A big bang in London worse than the Twin Towers? Not possible you say; then read the book.
