Yesterday, as every Friday at 3pm, saw another of the regular meetings of the German residents in north Cyprus. The meetings are very informal: a chat about the week’s happenings, maybe organising a little trip, the BBQ and such. The Cyprus Queen Bar in Alsancak provides a lovely setting to sit and while the time away.
This week we were confronted with a much larger than usual crowd, with the German contingent almost in the minority. Maybe it is becoming the foreign residents “Stammtisch”. It had many welcome visitors from as far a field as Norway and Sweden along with a Scottish and English contingent, making a thoroughly international mix. If you are in the area on a Friday afternoon and fancy a chat and meeting people from all over Europe , then pop by, I’m sure there’ll be seats for all.
