David Bowie Has Died – Long Live David Bowie Songs!

David Bowie lost his 18 month battle with cancer, his death was announced this morning. Long Live David Bowie Songs! From his start as a folk artist at the Beckenham Arts Lab in 1969 to the release of his latest album, Blackstar, released on his birthday a few days before his death, he has been an innovator.

His last album received critical acclaim which, considering he was dying of cancer, is amazing. It is no wonder that Andy Gill of The Independent commented that the album was “the most extreme album of his [Bowie’s] entire career,” and that “Blackstar is as far as he’s strayed from pop.”

The track that Bowie is most known for is the 1977 ‘Heroes’, according to an NME poll. For those who are interested, here is a YouTube video launching this last album.
