Sherwood Breezes, Lara Beach in Turkey – Saturday 12th March 2011

Although living in North Cyprus should be a permanent holiday, there comes a time when housework, gardening, painting and decorating and repairing begins to pall. A friend suggested we might like to try a 7-day break in Turkey and recommended the Lara Beach area. So off I went to the trusty internet and within 30 minutes had booked a holiday for two at Sherwood Breezes on Lara Beach. To say I was stunned by the prices was an understatement. produced a 7 day all-inclusive holiday for around £250 and that’s per room. the transfer from Antalya Airport to the hotel, £40 return and the two return flights for £100. A holiday for two for less than £400!

We boarded the 21:05 plane from Ercan to Antalya and were disembarking at 21:50. By 22:10 we were waiting for our transfer and it didn’t come. Thankfully one of the reps at the airport phoned the contact number and we discovered there was a mix up but a car would arrive in 20 minutes. We were told to wait by the supermarket and we had two cats to keep us company

After 15 minutes we started to believe our lift would not arrive

At precisely 10:50 our car arrived and within 30 minutes we had checked in. We discovered that this is a 24hr food and drink hotel so had no problem finding food, even at 12:45am.

Eventually, at 2am we stumbled to our bed.
