‘Rape Victim’ in Court Ordeal – a 76 year old British pensioner gave a harrowing account of her alleged rape by a 22 year old man in Girne District Court. Editor: her cross examination left a lot to be desired, in my opinion.
Kulaksiz 5 Buyers Celebrate – Chief Justice Narin Ferdi Şefik and Judge Ahmet Kalkan supported K5’s appeal but Judge Hüseyin Besimoğlu rejected it. Besimoğlu rejected the appeal because he believed Akfinans Bank had a duty to “sell the properties within three years.” This supposed duty was contradicted by Akfinans lawyer, Akan Kurşat, who is quoted as saying “the bank does not have any intention of selling the property.” Editor: is Kurşat implying that the foundation of Besimoğlu’s rejection of the appeal is false?
Roadworks Hit Snag – Girne’s High Street improvement project has been halted because a wall had been knocked down which the owner says is on their property and the Girne mayor said was 13m outside the property boundary. Girne District Court order the wall to be restored.
Fuel Prices Rise for Third Time This Year – fuel prices rose another 4 kuruş (diesel) and 6 kuruş (petrol) to 3.01 TL and 3.16 TL respectively.
