EX-RAF CHIEF: END TRNC EMBARGOES – THE international embargoes placed on Turkish Cypriots are a “disgrace” and should be ended immediately, the former head of Britain’s Royal Air Force (with a property in North Cyprus) has said.

Date proposed for general election, government budget – THE SIX parties represented in Parliament agreed this week to hold an early general election on Sunday, January 23. The last election took place in January 2018, when MPs were elected for a maximum five-year term.

Country in shock over death of 8-year-old girl – AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after an eight-year-old girl died at the Emergency Hospital in Lefkoşa on Wednesday. Meryem Ceren Kırma passed away a day after being taken to hospital with abdominal pain. She also tested positive for Covid-19, which would make her the TRNC’s youngest victim of the disease, although the exact cause of death has yet to be established. Her funeral took place in Lefkoşa on Thursday.
