1,400TL TO FILL UP YOUR CAR – THE cost of filling up the tank of an average-sized car has topped 1,400TL in North Cyprus following the latest round of hikes — with warnings of more price rises to come. Pump prices rose by as much as 4.81TL on Thursday after the new rates were published in the Official Gazette the previous evening. According to the announcement, a litre of 95 octane unleaded petrol has gone up from 23.54TL to 26TL, 98 octane unleaded has risen from 23.81TL per litre to 26.28TL, a litre of Euro diesel has gone up from 22.19TL to 27TL, and kerosene now costs 25.5TL a litre, up from 21.58TL.

13-year sentence for serial rapist – A SERIAL rapist has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after he was found guilty on Thursday of raping three women he met over the internet. Mürsel Aydın, who had already been sentenced to 13 years in 2019 after raping a fourth woman, was brought before Lefkoşa Assize Court to hear his fate regarding the rape of the three other women.
