Popular Science News | Short-Sighted Children Stay Indoors Too Much

Popular Science News – children being outside the house regularly are shown to be less prone to myopia. Scientists are puzzling about whether it is to do with natural light or exercise when common-sense tells me that looking into the distance will exercise muscles that will have little use indoors. Well, actually this has been said many times before and there have even been suggestions that children who live in big cities are also prone to myopia if they don’t have a distant horizon to focus on. I am always amazed at the way that scientists spend fortunes on research which misses the obvious.
