North Cyprus Property | I am a Victim

North Cyprus Property – I am a Victim. The online dictionary gives the meaning of the word victim as follows:

1. One who is harmed or killed by another.

2. A living creature slain and offered as a sacrifice during a religious rite.

3. One who is harmed by or made to suffer from an act, circumstance, agency, or condition.

4. A person who suffers injury, loss, or death as a result of a voluntary undertaking.

5. A person who is tricked, swindled, or taken advantage of.

Take meaning number 1. Would that apply to the victims of the north Cyprus property scams, yes I believe it would. Many premature deaths have occurred due to the trauma and stress of their suffering.

Take meaning number 2. No, I really cannot find a way to apply that meaning.

Take meaning number 3. Oh yes, if the ‘powers that be had done their job properly, there would be no victims.

Take meaning number 4. Again yes for the same reason as numbers 1, 3, 4 and 5.

Take meaning number 5. Most definitely.

Now let us look at the meaning of the word justice:

1. The quality of being just; fairness.

2a. The principle of moral rightness; equity.

b. Conformity to moral rightness in action or attitude; righteousness.

3a. The upholding of what is just, especially fair treatment and due reward in accordance with honor, standards, or law.

b. Law The administration and procedure of law.

4. Conformity to truth, fact, or sound reason.

To summarise, many ex pats went to north Cyprus to find a ‘paradise’, instead they found a ‘hell’. They were systematically victimised and the state sat back and let it happen, so much for justice.

I hate the word victim almost as much as I dislike being one. It implies you have somehow lost your free will, that is something that will never happen, there will come a time when I will be able to look back and say, I am a survivor God willing.
