Having been wrongly informed by Extend helpdesk that a database problem had caused poor service, it seems that they were swamped by customers who believed that this was the cause of their recent slow internet connection, including my own dropping to 256kb when I expected 1 Mb. Having been informed that the database problem had been corrected I added this information to the original article. Extend, instead of telling me what the cause of the problem was and how they would be correcting the problem they sent me this email:
"To: Webmaster From: Extend [email protected] Message: Good Afternoon, Please can you remove this recent article and our extend logo off your site as this is unauthorised and not a true statement as extend does not currently have any database problems this is causing our customer's concern and contacting us for not reason. thank you Extend"
I want to make it absolutely clear that the cause of your slow internet connection has nothing to do with a database error. NCFP has also removed Extend’s logo from the article as, like Extend, the last thing we would want to do is infringe copyright laws.
We’re sorry for raising the hopes of all the Extend customers who phoned Extend hoping there was a cure for their problem, hopefully in the near future this problem will be corrected.
