South Legislates Against Repossessing Government Property

If ever a Government is sending the wrong message, this from the south has to be it:

‘State: no more seizing government property | Cyprus Mail’  http://t.co/ZH00Dy59Gj

Even the headline “no more seizing of government property” is wrong. Not yours until you have paid for it in full.

To save the Government the humiliation of seeing their creditors, quite rightly in my opinion, repossess Government used vehicles, they are legislating against it. Surely this is in breach of the Human Rights of the loan company owners/share holders and is state interference in the running of a private business. Their credit rating should be nil.

It certainly sends the wrong message to potential investors and now please do not laugh, potential property purchasers. They wonder how they got into the financial mess they are in, well even a very politically un-savvy person like me can work out, this is not the right thing to be doing.

It seems the perceived idea that Cypriots love the idea of borrowing but abhor the idea of repaying the debt comes right from the top.

Kamikaze is a Japanese word, but at this moment, it seems to describe exactly what the RoC Government is doing.
