Friday night is Fish and Chip Night and if you are in North Cyprus, looking for decent North Cyprus Restaurants and missing your “fix” then Lokman’s in Alsancak is the place to go. They do get busy and we were asked if we had reserved a table but we hadn’t but they still managed to accommodate us straight away.
The staff are charming and asked if we wanted the ‘Cod, chips and mushy peas’ as advertised on the board outside for 28tl (£5.85) which is what we had come for but we did ask for a side salad to go with them. The rather large side salad was 12tl. We also had a brandy sour (13tl) and a pint of draft Efes (6tl), a good price for Efes. We did look around for a menu out of interest to see what other food they had but there seemed to be only one menu circulating and so I am unsure of their other dishes.
I am not a great lover of fish and chips as I don’t like grease. When our meal arrived it appeared to be totally grease less! Cooked to perfection and served very quickly.
