North Cyprus Restaurant Review | Charcos – Lapta

5 starsNorth Cyprus Restaurant Review – Charcos – Lapta

Sticking to the Lapta area we decided to try Charcos Restaurant, somewhere we had liked a few years ago before it had moved.

First impressions as we entered the restaurant was that the location was a pleasant village setting and highly recommended for a special occasion. We sat surrounded by artwork which made the venue even more special.

We ordered our drinks, an efes was 6TL, and ordered our main courses – mixed kebabs (30TL) for me and lamb chops for my partner (32TL). These prices included starter, dessert and coffee and brandy.

The starters were wonderful with a mixture of soft cheese, a quiche-like slice and salad. There was also bread brought to the table and a salad.

The main courses arrived and were both excellent, including plenty of real chips!

The dessert was delicious and the brandy (’81) and coffee were good quality.

Definitely recommended!

Directions: Take the turning opposite the Hut on the main Girne-Lapta Road, and go uphill until you reach the T-Junction in Lapta village. Turn right, and continue through the village, straight on up the hill, then turn right at the T junction at the top of the hill. After about 300 yards, take the road to the right which goes under the arch at the Lapta Belyedesi. The road is very narrow by Charcos, so we parked once we had gone through the arch and walked down, about 2 minutes walk.
