North Cyprus Property Victims – Beggars Imagination

I read this article in Hurriyet Daily News¹ and got very angry at the injustice meted out and then got to thinking about my own situation in the Turkish protectorate of the TRNC.

Imagine you are an old woman. Imagine you save for all of your working life so that you will not be a burden to your family and society.

Imagine you decide to sell up all that you have worked for in the UK and then having converted your assets to cash, you take that cash to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. You follow all the rules set down for house purchase there, including an added precaution of engaging an Advocate who claims to have gained her law degree in the UK, and then you purchase a property.

Imagine then that having lived in your property for just under two years, you find that your UK legally trained Advocate has led you into a property scam and you then have to embark on legal action that is costly, uncertain and extremely stressful.

Imagine 6 years plus have elapsed and still you are waiting for a decision from a legal system that is clearly flawed.

Imagine that during that 6 years, a bank involved in the scam mounts a personal smear campaign on you and yours and accuse you of being dishonest, publicly attempts to humiliate you, even issues Libel writs in an attempt to silence you in your criticism of them and calls for your deportation, using the media as their mouthpiece. The irony there being that the same bank went to law to try to silence the media telling about their involvement in the scam. To a great degree, the bank did silence the press.

Will the TRNC become like Turkey and protect the harasser?

This is the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus the clue is in the name.

“the Turkish protectorate of the TRNC.”

“Imagine you decide to sell up all that you have worked for in the UK and then having converted your assets to cash ”

Just imagine, property and lands that belonged to generations of your ancestors, stolen by the Turkish barbarians and sold to senile old fools like you !

Many of you have still not got it. You have purchased STOLEN properties following the barbaric invasion by Turkey in 1974, you deserve all that the occupier is doing to you, your senility is your downfall, now old girl, grin and bear it.

Still full of the joys I see Mutley.

No I mean the protectorate, you can call it whatever you please.

Well I guess you have partaken of a great deal of red wine today old boy.

I suppose you also believe the people who bought in the south deserve all your fellow countrymen are doing to them too. When it comes to the property market scams, they are as peas from the same pod.

Fortunately, what you think is irrelevant.

How many times must the drunken fool be told?
He claims it was a Turkish invasion, therefore it is spoils of war.

So tough sh*t it is ours now.

  • Wallet and Gromit

The “beggars do have imagination” especially dreaming up scams to steal from people, that is for sure.

  • Miltiades

Would not expect any other answer from a low down ill educated cheapskate.

  • Polly Marples

Not ill at all Mutley, and well educated, thank you very much.

CIH, I think we have upset him, and he must have spilled his wine.

Just ignore the brain fuddled old duffer…
He’s had nothing new to say for years he is stuck in the past and i’m afraid that is where he and the likes of him will stay.

Isn’t it fascinating where all the “thumbs down” come from. Nobody other than the old fool comments but I get 6 of them against my comments.

Is that the best argument they can come up with to the FACT that Turkey will NEVER allow the GC to have anything in the north.

The brain dead cheapskates join forces, no doubt you lot support Turkeys position in relation to ISIS.

53 years living in the UK, has made me more than aware that there are two types of Brits, the best in the world and the worst. Which are you lot I wonder. Ex council tenants, arse scratching nose picking Sun readers with one singular brain between the lot of you,
cheapskates rushing in to buy stolen properties, you have as much class as a dead rat.

  • Polly Marples

Trust an ignorant, foul mouthed, bigot to even infer any British person would support ISIS.

Living 53 years in Briton, you have learned nothing. You can take the Cypriot out of Cyprus, but you cannot take Cyprus out of the Cypriot.

Mr Editor, you said you would be monitoring the comments, this one is racist, bigoted, classist and does not belong on here.

  • Miltiades

A perfectly logical assumption, since you have thrown your full support behind Turkey, a nation that fully supports ISIS, a nation that occupies a part of a sovereign state that you also wholeheartetly support.

After all these years you still fail to grasp what is going on Milti.

Think (if that’s possible) all the downtrodden, persecuted, alienated, embargoed and generally Men Women and Children treated like shite by the likes of you for over 50 years are the ones that most of us support and and you simply can not see it,… what an absolute arsehole you really are.

I was speaking to 2 MP’s in the UK last week and would you credit it they both privately support the TC’s plight and both were very critical of the RoC and its ways,….. didn’t suprise me in the least.

  • Miltiades

How many times do I have to tell you, you are far too stupid to debate anything other than page 3 of the Sun. Off you go now, take back your PC and demand a full refund, mitigating circumstances, you are too stupid !

  • cyprusishome

Why is the person so obsessed with council estates and the Sun newspaper??

Alleges to have been over 50 years in UK yet he still has no idea how a genuine citezen thinks.

The parrot lives, well he must be given how he just repeats the same old rhetoric.

  • Polly Marples

It is said that people write what they know about CIH.

Nothing wrong with social housing, indeed there seems to be a shortgage of it, due to Maggie’s policies. I am sure the Sun newspaper is still in business because many buy it.

It is strange how a Cypriot peasant has delusions of grandeur. I hope someone is keeping his ancestral hut well tended, whilst he lives the life of Riley in his flat provided by social housing.

  • AM

Milti, if I was twice as bright as you I would still be worried.

Anyway what’s wrong with living in a council house are you saying you don’t agree with them ?….. maybe you are a snob eh ?
