North Cyprus Property Victims – Beggars Imagination
I read this article in Hurriyet Daily News¹ and got very angry at the injustice meted out and then got to thinking about my own situation in the Turkish protectorate of the TRNC.
Imagine you are an old woman. Imagine you save for all of your working life so that you will not be a burden to your family and society.
Imagine you decide to sell up all that you have worked for in the UK and then having converted your assets to cash, you take that cash to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. You follow all the rules set down for house purchase there, including an added precaution of engaging an Advocate who claims to have gained her law degree in the UK, and then you purchase a property.
Imagine then that having lived in your property for just under two years, you find that your UK legally trained Advocate has led you into a property scam and you then have to embark on legal action that is costly, uncertain and extremely stressful.
Imagine 6 years plus have elapsed and still you are waiting for a decision from a legal system that is clearly flawed.
Imagine that during that 6 years, a bank involved in the scam mounts a personal smear campaign on you and yours and accuse you of being dishonest, publicly attempts to humiliate you, even issues Libel writs in an attempt to silence you in your criticism of them and calls for your deportation, using the media as their mouthpiece. The irony there being that the same bank went to law to try to silence the media telling about their involvement in the scam. To a great degree, the bank did silence the press.
Will the TRNC become like Turkey and protect the harasser?
This is the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus the clue is in the name.

Just imagine, property and lands that belonged to generations of your ancestors, stolen by the Turkish barbarians and sold to senile old fools like you !
Many of you have still not got it. You have purchased STOLEN properties following the barbaric invasion by Turkey in 1974, you deserve all that the occupier is doing to you, your senility is your downfall, now old girl, grin and bear it.

A perfectly logical assumption, since you have thrown your full support behind Turkey, a nation that fully supports ISIS, a nation that occupies a part of a sovereign state that you also wholeheartetly support.

I was speaking to 2 MP’s in the UK last week and would you credit it they both privately support the TC’s plight and both were very critical of the RoC and its ways,….. didn’t suprise me in the least.

Nothing wrong with social housing, indeed there seems to be a shortgage of it, due to Maggie’s policies. I am sure the Sun newspaper is still in business because many buy it.
It is strange how a Cypriot peasant has delusions of grandeur. I hope someone is keeping his ancestral hut well tended, whilst he lives the life of Riley in his flat provided by social housing.
