North Cyprus News - Cyprus Today 25th September 2021

The main North Cyprus News on the front page of Cyprus Today on 25th September 2021 is that Brits are being treated like illegal settlers by South Cyprus, according to the head of the British Residents Society. I do believe he’s forgotten that UK citizens no longer belong to the EU and that after 90 days they need a visa.

BRITS TREATED LIKE ‘ILLEGAL SETTLERS’ – BRITISH expats living in the TRNC are being treated by the Greek Cypriot authorities like “illegal settlers” the head of the British Residents Society (BRS) has said.

BRS chairman Peter Wilkins told this newspaper yesterday that he has been made aware that South Cyprus is “intending to refuse entry via their airports” to any British citizen who has “previously ‘overstayed’ by putting a ‘stop’ on their passports for an unspecified length of time” from October 1 onwards.

Ercan-South flight price comparison website reveals best deals available – AFTER the removal of Turkey from England’s Covid-19 “red list” on Wednesday, flights between the UK and Ercan airport in North Cyprus are once again a feasible option. But how do one-way prices compare with direct flights to and from airports in the South?

According to Skyscanner, an online aggregator of air tickets, the cheapest flight from London to Ercan on October 23, the first Saturday of the October half term in England and Wales, is operated by Pegasus from London Stansted. It departs at 12.30pm and costs 2,303TL (£194.60) per adult, including a three-hour layover at İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen airport.
