Noth Cyprus Property Newsflash | Akfinan Bank reported to police for Kulaksiz trespassAgainst the wishes and without the permission of the residents, the Bank foreman entered into the gardens of the residents of Kulaksiz 5 to fit telephone boxes to the side of the villa’s walls. The majority of the work had been done without hindrance because the residents were all out. On returning home one of the residents called a sympathiser who called the police to report this trespass. The workmen were still on site. When the police arrived some 40 minutes later, they were told by a workman that they had court permission enabling them to carry out this work. How can this be so when the cases brought about by the Bank to obtain an eviction order are still ongoing? Unless of course the bank already know the decisions. There are seven ongoing Eviction hearings before the Girne District court at present, to my knowledge no decision has been reached.

It is alleged that the Bank has taken out a court case against one of the residents for not allowing the telephone wires into his residence. Has this alleged case finished? In fairness to the police, they took a full report from both sides and informed the resident that a crime number would be available in one week. The details of the K5’s legal team were given to the police. The taking of the report involved a visit to the police station and the obtaining of a translator

It does beg the question – did they ever obtain a court order to be able to continue to live in 5 Demokrasi Sokak, did they ever obtain a court order to be able to retain possession of Eva McCluskey’s villa?

It is thought that the same employee of the bank who cooled his heels in a cell overnight after entering another property illegally last year is again the same workman primarily involved in this alleged trespass.

The stance taken by all K5 victims is not to co-operate with any work the bank try to carry. Indeed it is alleged that a letter informing the bank that any money they spend on the site and any work they carry out is against the wishes of the group has been sent to the legal representative of the bank.
