Kulaksiz 5 v Akfinans Bank DVD and YouTube Video

Despite protestations that the first article about the “Banks Behaving Badly” DVD carried inaccuracies, viewing it proved that it did not.

What was abundantly clear was the fact that the makers had decided not to mention the Bank involved, Akfinans Bank Limited. One has to suppose that legal opinion was taken and it was decided that to do so would be opening the makers up to litigation. But why, clearly this story is well known in North Cyprus and nothing revealed was new or controversial.

What did come over in a very emotive and thought provoking manner was the effect this whole tragedy was having on the victims Bob and Jan French and Phil and Mike Watkins-Jones. The message received through them was very real and very strong. If you watched this and were not reduced to tears, you would have had to have a heart of stone or be a member of the Kader family.

Let us hope that this DVD is well received all over the world for indeed once released on YouTube the world is their audience. Let us also hope that this DVD goes viral, it certainly has the potential to do so.

It will be 2 years on the 6th June 2010 since the Auction which was dubbed illegal took place. It will be over 4 years since the Kulaksiz 5 first learnt of the mortgage that is also being dubbed illegal. Will the TRNC courts agree with popular opinion or will they force this case into the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. The case has already been lodged with the ECHR and a case number issued.

So many other victims are being forced to follow suit by a Government that seems to think that silence or inaction is acceptable. Let us hope we are all wrong and that they do care and will take decisive action very soon. To not do so will be suicidal for the Property and all related sectors.
