Sony Ericsson Run to Raise Money for Embargoed!

Onur Refet

Turkish Cypriot runner Onur Refet will be joining thousands of others for the Sony Ericsson 1/2 Marathon on Sunday 27 September 2009. Kicking off 09.45 at the O2 Centre in Greenwich, Onur, donned in his Embargoed! t-shirt, will be aiming to raise awareness and money for the human rights group. The keep-fit enthusiast has already run the NIKE 10K race in Hyde Park earlier this year, also in aid of Embargoed!

Onur said, “As a good friend of the current Chair of Embargoed!, I was proud to have the group logo across my t-shirt to show support for this important cause and raise vital funding for the campaign. Embargoed! is respected by so many people I know, but very few realise how much is done by volunteers on a shoestring budget.” He added, “Everyone needs to get behind this campaign so we can finally end the isolation of North Cyprus.”

Anyone who is interested in sponsoring Onur Refet can contact Embargoed! by emailing [email protected] or phone 07806 932966.
