Embargoed

Peace_dove_blue_skyHaving a debate on Cyprus on a blog or in response to an article has the potential to be quite explosive. Embargoed! has shown that we are keen to ensure where negative propaganda is being perpetuated vis-à-vis Turkish Cypriots, we are now fighting back and posting comments that make it clear every side has two stories! This is something we have not done very well [or at all] in the past. We have already had a great success earlier in the year when we tackled London MEP Mary Honeyball about her contribution at the GC rally in Trafalgar Square, where she stood in front of the deeply offensive bloody flag emblem!

We have come across two more links that I would like to bring to your attention. There are some quite horrible things said in many of the contributions pro-Republic of Cyprus. Much of it is totally misinformed at best and deliberately provocative at worse. It pleases me enormously that our people and supporters are rising to the debate and putting some facts into the mix, which to be blunt your average Greek Cypriot will not be able to counter – at the end of the day you can’t challenge the truth!

I would ask you all to have a read of the links below. Take the time to enter the debate, keeping contributions completely constructive and factual. The Guardian article was actually written by Suat Kiniklioglu who is the Deputy Chairman for External Affairs for Turkey’s ruling Justice & Development Party. Never stoop to the level of those who openly display xenophobic, Islamaphobic/Turkophobic sentiments.

Never stoop to the level of those who openly display xenophobic, Islamaphobic/Turkophobic sentiments. It is not cool 🙂

We have some incredibly knowledgeable people that we can call on in times such as these. I thank you for your anticipated support on this issue.
