Cyprus Problem | Greek Cypriots Agree Anti-Money Laundering Audit

According to the EUObserver

Cyprus has agreed to an independent audit of the implementation of measures to combat money laundering as part of talks aimed at agreeing an €18 billion rescue package for the Mediterranean island. Eurogroup President Jeroen Djisselbloem confirmed the news on Monday adding that a private company would undertake the investigation.

That’s a bad start for the newly formed government down south. On Sunday Michalis Sarris, the new Finance Minister, according to the Financial Times, said that he was resisting an outside audit concerning money laundering in the south and a day later his resistance seems to have crumbled!
