Cyprus Problem | Biblical Journey Brings the Wrath of Tof

Without going into great detail about the Apostle St Paul’s first journey as described in the Bible’s Act of Apostles, it is clear that he travelled from Antioch, currently in Turkey, to Salamis, currently in North Cyprus. The U.S.-based Biblical Archaeology Society decided to follow the Apostle’s journey, including the Antioch to Salamis stage and this has drawn the Wrath of Tof; President Christofias to you and me.

It’s illegal to follow the footsteps of the Apostle St Paul, the south’s government has decreed. If St Paul had travelled to Salamis today then he would have been trespassing and would possibly be subject to prosecution when he returned to the south, some would say. But then I guess a communist government would say that.
