According to the Greek Reporter, the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told the UN Security Council on Tuesday 16/4/2018 that he was pressing for a bid to restart negotiations on reuniting Cyprus, nearly two years after talks collapsed. Guterres submitted a progress report to the security council on the UN mission to mediate between the two sides, writing that:
“It is my hope that the ongoing consultations will lead to a return to negotiations, to which I could devote the full weight of my good offices, with the aim of reaching a lasting resolution of the Cyprus issue.”

I guess if at first you don’t succeed then try, try, try, try, try, try…again.
Who needs Brexit when you have the Cyprus Talks, ever decreasing circles that go round and round until the talks disappear in order to reappear again with nothing changed but with a dream that the result will somehow be different. I guess politicians use them as a justification for international travel and free booze and food, oh, and their large salaries.
