Popular Science News | Robotic Arm Controlled by Mind

A newly developed robotic arm can be controlled by signals from the brain transmitted to the arm by a micro-electrode implant. While early applications involveĀ  paralysed patients, including soldiers injured on the battlefield, it does not take much imagination to see a fully scaled-up version controlled from a distance. Although researchers are currently just talking about an arm, this is surely just the start and in the future why can’t there be a battalion of soldiers controlled wirelessly from the safety of a bunker containing fully wired up soldiers?

It is often said that technology follows closely on from fiction or, to quote Napoleon Hill, “whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”
