Popular Science News | Privacy Settings Confuse FaceBook Owner’s Family

Popular Science News – privacy settings even confuse FaceBook owner’s family. It seems that a private photo taken of the Zuckerberg family, including FaceBook owner Mark Zuckerberg, found its way onto Twitter because Mark’s sister Randi didn’t understand the privacy settings of the company she used to be Marketing Director for.

The way it works is that people tagged on the photo ended up having access to the photo and so did their friends. One of these second level friends, thinking it was a public photo, then published it on Twitter where 40,000 people have so far had access to it. Even though the photo is now taken down, and the Twitter poster has apologised, it shows that even people who really should know better are confused by FaceBook privacy settings.
