Daily Images | Cyprus Mouflon

Never seen one here but, according to Cypriots, there was always one round the corner. Mouflon were introduced to Cyprus during the neolithic period and over the past few thousand years they developed into a subspecies known as the Cyprus Moulfon (Ovis orientalis ophion) or Agrino. There are only about 3000 animals on the island and so they are quite rare.
