North Cyprus News | UBP Ruling Party Staying Until Bitter End

“The governing National Unity Party has ruled out the possibility of holding early elections in the country.

The UBP’s General Executive Committee evaluated a motion presented to parliament by the two opposition parties for early elections.

It was decided at the meeting that there is no need to hold early elections in the country.

The UBP Secretary General Fuat Namsoy was also appointed with the task of meeting with persons who wanted to join the party and to accept new applications.

Speaking at the meeting, Namsoy said “the possibility of early elections in not on our party’s agenda. However should such a need arise in the future, the National Unity Party which has 28 deputies in the TRNC parliament will decide on the matter. We are the most prepared political party for early elections.” [http://www.brtk.net]

Would that be the Mayor of Lapta who insists that the Orams pay their dues because he does not recognise EU courts? Would that be the same committee that recently had a new member elected, who also is a Bank Manager/Owner. Just asking?
