Euro poll eligibility for TCs sparks anger – European parliamentary elections being held in south Cyprus tomorrow have been described as a “scandal” with claims that thousands of Turkish Cypriots are being prevented from voting. Greek Cypriot authorities revealed that a total of 58,637 Turkish Cypriots with “Republic of Cyprus” ID cards would be able to vote. But uncertainty over residential addresses in the north prevented them from adding more names to the electoral register it was claimed.

Dig for ‘missing’ Greek Cypriots starts at church – Forensic archaeologists have begun excavation work in the grounds of St Andrew’s church after being tipped off that the remains of up to five “missing” Greek Cypriots may be buried there.
