According to TRNC President Mustafa Akinci, quoted in Cyprus Mail (4.6.15), there will be a settlement of the Cyprus Problem in the next few months.
‘Hopefully, we will achieve a mutually acceptable solution in months, rather than years,” Akinci was reported to have said in New York as he left a half-hour meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
Well, that’s it then. A 50 year old problem is solved by the two presidents having a walkabout and a few drinks at a cafe. Why didn’t they think of that earlier?
Hopefully, Russia will not invade Ukraine and Greece will not default on its EU debt. I think Akinci was using the phrase in that context.
