North Cyprus Property | Chelsey Village Battle EscalatesI am led to believe that someone who wants to force a group of Chelsey Village property purchasers to pay their maintenance fees has sabotaged the sewage system of one or more of these non-payers. I’ve taken a photo from the Chelsey Village Friends Group (CVFG) which states that the sewage pipe seen in the image below has been filled with styrofoam and the caption is ‘Criminal damage done by YIGOR.’ Of course I cannot confirm that this is true but, if it is true, then it appears that any negotiations which may have been taking place have broken down.

Who owns the sewage pipe, in fact who owns the properties, is an important factor in what happens next. If, as I imagine, the property purchasers have no title deeds in their name, then it looks like the current title deed owner could do anything they want to the property and avoid criminal charges. Again, this sends a signal to would-be purchasers in North Cyprus, do not buy unless you are given a title deed in exchange for your money, at the time of purchase. Until the government endorsed Permission to Purchase (PTP) fiasco is solved, and purchasers no longer have to risk their money while waiting for title deeds in their name to be issued, think twice about purchasing here. Unless of course you are a North Cyprus Citizen, who doesn’t have this problem. Cunning ploy, some would say, to drive ex-pat property prices down and allow them to be taken back cheaply to be sold again, ad infinitum.
