Kulaksiz court case dismissed by judgeEditor: this is a story we knew about but were told not to publish because “our lawyers would prefer to keep this event as low key as possible for nothing will be gained by any critical publicity.” We feel free to break our promise and quote our source rather than spend time summarising the CT article:

“On the 11th October Boysan Boyra’s secretary called the court Registrar’s office to check that our main case would be heard on the 14 October, as it was the eve of Byram so the court would be closed at 12.00 noon. She was informed that the case was rescheduled to the 28th October.

Late on Friday 25th October Boysan’s office discovered that the case went ahead on the 14th as scheduled and the judge cancelled our main case as neither us or our advocate were there.

In response today, Hasan applied to the court to re-instate our main case, and a date has been set for the 22nd November to hear this application. He also applied for and was granted an interim injunction to protect us until this application has been heard.

Whilst this is unfortunate for us, Boysan has told us this has now happened to him seven times in his legal career. In the previous 6 cases things were always reinstated so he was not concerned about the outcome. We feel that Hasan has done a great job today to recover us from a dreadful situation.

Our lawyers would prefer to keep this event as low key as possible for nothing will be gained by any critical publicity.”
