‘Give me my money back’ – John Dempster is demanding his money back from the builder Santa Fe and the £55,000 he left with his advocate. His £165,000 villa was not built according to the plans he had agreed to and was told it would be finished by September 2006. He has won a court case ordering Santa Fe to give him back the cash he paid out. He wants a refund and Santa Fe says it cannot afford it. He has been offered alternative properties but he says he wants out of the deal. He also wants the cash his Girne based advocate Münür Doratlı was holding to be returned immediately. A pledge to return the cash on Monday was not honoured. Editor: an advocate who breaks his word, he’ll be up in front of the TRNC Law Society surely? No one would buy property in a country where “lawyers” were allowed to get away with stealing your money.
TRNC Booze blamed for three deaths – “Bootleg” alcohol believed to have been made in North Cyprus is being blamed for the deaths of three Russian tourists in Turkey. Editor – the point about ‘bootleg’ alcohol is that the labels are fake. Turkey wouldn’t be accusing Scotland if the label was for a malt whisky made there!
