North Cyprus Restaurant Review - Tervetuloa - AlsancakNorth Cyprus Restaurant Review – Tervetuloa – Alsancak

Yet another hard evening’s work producing a North Cyprus Restaurant Review, this time at Tervetuloa tucked away in the back streets of Alsancak.

This is a traditional Turkish Cypriot meal with everything included; 10 cold and 3 hot mezes, main course, desert, coffee and brandy plus a large bottle of water. You pay the price of the main course and the rest is included. I tried the mixed kebab (40TL)  and my partner the fish on a tile (39TL). I had an Efes (6TL) and my partner a brandy sour (9TL).

The cold mezes came fairly quickly and soon after the hot mezes followed. They were delicious, flavoursome and authentic.

The main courses were good although the lamb on my meal was a little tough and I would have preferred chicken cubes rather than a chicken thigh. The chips were real but slightly underdone but my partner’s fish was excellent and the portion so large that I got to try some but only in order to agree with her opinion.

The restaurant had been much improved since I last visited and would definitely be suitable for a special event. The waiters were not over attentive and it was good to be greeted at our table by the owner, something you experience less of now.

Overall a 4-star rating but slightly let down by the meat in my main course
