North Cyprus News – Animal Slaughter

The murder of Alan Henning and all the others so callously beheaded by the British ISIL terrorist known as John has been likened by a well known singer to the way Muslims slaughter animals. ¹ Is she right?

The Muslim way of slaughtering animals for human consumption has been a subject of controversy not least by those who feel it is cruel.

“The debate over when meat is halal and whether it should be clearly labelled has been put back on the agenda by vets and animal welfare campaigners who want all animals slaughtered for food to be stunned before killing.”

We now are seeing this barbaric follower of ISIS using a similar method to kill innocent human beings. Do not tell us it is in the name of God, such teachings as ISIL follow comes from a very dark place where only evil flourishes.

“Evil flourishes when good men to nothing”.

  • You will find that in most, if not all, ‘Western’ countries (EU, US etc.) it is illegal to slaughter animals for human consumption unless they have been rendered unconscious, before being killed with a knife and satisfying the other requirements of Halal, Kosher or other religious custom. This subject is very complex but, if the stunning process kills the animal the meat cannot be Halal. However some Muslims accept ‘Kosher’ or even Christian killed meat if the death is caused by a knife and the name of God has been invoked at the moment of death. Jews, however, will not accept Halal meat. Muslims must not eat blood, so ‘most’ of the blood has to be drained from the animal, and Pork is forbidden by Muslims, Jews and certain other faiths. Yet there are some Jews who will eat pig meat if the animals have spent all their lives off the ground (on the wooden floors of sheds for example). Both the practices and the various interpretations of beliefs make this all very complicated.

Black pudding a no no then.

  • Yes Polly, they don’t know what they’re missing! However I agree that it’s best not to think too much about it and I do understand the vegetarians’ point of view. Of course cattle are a big source of Global Warming and the billions we kill for food is already unsustainable. As the World population rises (as it will) there will need to be alternatives to eating meat. Meat substitute can already be produced in the laboratory, perhaps that is one possibility for the human race.
