mouth offI am sorry you did not print the first bit of my first article, perhaps you will do so now?

” I should point out that I am not a fan of Cyprus 44 as it is too full of stupid hate mail & has become a public place to mouth off. I hope you can stop the same happening to your press”

I am not insensitive to the problems faced by people caught in the unfortunate situation of having their homes repossessed. I have made a study of it and talked to lawyers and people in a position of power.

I wrote another article putting forward twenty ways that they could advance their cause; I even contacted two of my friends who are freelance journalists, offering to pay for their trip to Cyprus to see for themselves.

I binned my article as if this is how your readers treat people offering advice and help. I prefer to retire to the sidelines.

I will offer once bit of advice:

The power of public opinion has proved to be more powerful than protest or trying to fire blunt arrows at the Government or Courts, this will only bring you into conflict with the very people that you hope can help you.

My article ended like this :

………………….One could go on, there are many other facets to this thorny problem, yet these ideas might help those caught today in a nightmare. I put it to you that the time for rage and protest is past and unproductive, as the nature of these feelings is negative; the only hope you have is to look for positive solutions & actions.

You have to understand that the banks who hold these loans, are only interested in their money; they have deeper pockets to fight legal battles and even if they lose, may only pay out a small percentage of what they claim is owed to them, but still get their capital back and write off losses against their profits. They are more worried about their reputation and if their customers walk out of the bank !… Interesting?

Those living with the stress and worry of this nightmare, need to take time to accept that they were robbed, and then decide to look for positive solutions. Luckily you are not alone, anyone with any feelings should help you regain your dignity and will to fight this in-justice.
