Cyprus Problem – South Has Problem With Two State Solution

Kibris newspaper (01.11.13) reports that President Anastasides is saying that both he and the Greek Cypriots are in a hurry to find a solution to the Cyprus Problem and that the delay is harming both communities. However, he added that before recommencing the talks the south wants a framework, targets and basic principles of the solution to be included in the joint statement discussed between the representatives of the leaders.

President Anastasides said that TRNC President Eroglu, on 29 October, referred to “sovereignty of two states” and this causes problems of an international identity for the state and the concept of a single citizenship. He pointed out that in absolutely no federation in the world did the federated states or units have sovereignty.
