Popular Science News | Influenza Jabs Don’t Work & Cause Harm

Popular Science News – Influenza Jabs Don’t Work & Cause Harm. Who says so? It’s not just another opinion, it’s what a combination of all the eligible research collated by Cochrane Collaboration says. This organisation is accepted internationally accepted as the gold standard of research and ignores faulty research evidence, possibly set up by industry related bodies in order to sell vaccines.

“A remarkable study published in the Cochrane Library found no evidence of benefit for influenza vaccinations. It’s also damns the quality of flu vaccine studies by saying that the vast majority of trials were inadequate. The authors stated that the only ones showing benefit were industry-funded. They also pointed out that the industry-funded studies were more likely to be published in the most prestigious journals … and one more thing: They found cases of severe harm caused by the vaccines, in spite of inadequate reporting of adverse effects.” [Gaia Health]

The actual report is complex, if you want to read it then use the link below but here is the summary of the report authors’ finding:

Implications for practice

The results of this review seem to discourage the utilisation of vaccination against influenza in healthy adults as a routine public health measure. As healthy adults have a low risk of complications due to respiratory disease, the use of the vaccine may be only advised as an individual protection measure against symptoms in specific cases.

Implications for research

The major differences in effect size between outcomes highlight the need for careful consideration of the best study design to assess the effects of public health measures such as vaccines. Large studies encompassing several influenza seasons are required to allow assessment of the effect of the vaccines on seemingly rare outcomes such as complications and death.” [Vaccines for preventing influenza in healthy adults]

I like to make informed decisions and as a healthy adult this report confirms my gut feeling that I don’t want a flu jab. The difficulty comes when a parent has to make a decision for a child. I know what my decision would be.
