Popular Science News  – Google are trying to cover it up but it seems that as the Google vehicles collecting images for Google Street View for some reason collected data from insecure WiFi connections. Google are trying to explain this as a mistake but the engineer who developed the software says this was not so. It appears that it collected this data because it could and was considering how it could make money from it at a later date.

Maurice Milner, the British software engineer who developed the Street View software recently revealed this sinister side of Google’s activities, which has been reported several times over the last few years, but has now only just been confirmed by his personal testimony.
