Environmental News | Limassol Municipal Zoo Reopens

Environmental News – the old Limmasol Zoo was founded 50 years ago but with the south’s entry into the EU the 1.5 acre facility was found not to be fully compliant with EU directives required to provide the best possible conditions for the animals and birds.

The upgraded zoo, opened on June 1st, houses around 90 species of animals, birds and reptiles from around the world. It cost €1.5 million to make the changes and to see if the investment was worth it why not visit. In summer, the Zoo is open daily from 9.00am to 7.00pm and in winter from 9.00am to 4.00pm.
