As for as I’m concerned there is more of interest on p.7 than on the front page

Front Page

Groups Protest Use of UK Bases, Bobby Davro is Performing at a Private Party, Party Leaders Strike Coalition Deal

8-month-old baby ‘breaks embargoes – a Turkish Cypriot baby from the north is featuring on adverts in the south after her mother won a competition

The Rest

World Peace Day – tomorrow. Editor: Hunting Season starts tomorrow!

ESK results ‘outstanding’ – every iGCSE student achieved a C grade or better in 10 subjects at the English School Kyrenia. Editor: this makes them the best iGCSE school in the world 🙂

Expat in Battle to Save Dream Home – Jan Mc Dermott’s story as in NCFP

The House of the Rising Sums – Linda Orams, who lost her home as a result of a court case in the UK, has to pay taxes on it because, according to TRNC law, she still owns it. According to Sibel Siber that’s the law BUT the point is that the previous government made a big thing of compensating her and didn’t. Editor – what a witty headline, ‘The House of the Rising Sums’, on par with an article about an employee losing a court case concerning an industrial accident in which he lost both legs – ‘Not a Leg to Stand on’.

Unpaid are ‘going hungry’ – workers at Mehmetcik Municipality have refused to work until they get their July pay. Instead they are protesting using placards with messages such as ‘we are hungry’ and ‘we want our rights’. The mayor said the municipality owed 1bnTL so couldn’t pay bills. Editor: I wonder if the mayor has been paid?
