Afrika newspaper (14.07.13) reports that the focus of the National Unity Party’s (UBP) election preparations seem to be on the image of the ousted party. Image makers from Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party (AKP), advised the former President, Mehmet Ali Talat, to change his glasses and shave his hair. This time they are giving their attention to UBP leader, Irsen Kucuk’s hair colour. Apparently on Saturday, during UBP’s meeting in Lefkosa, Kucuk’s hair colour was the main point of interest.

Interestingly, when the period during which surveys could be published ended on Saturday 13th July, according to Afrika, for the first time, no one ordered a survey from the reputable KADEM Research Company. The newspaper commented that the survey made by Redborder Company was not convincing.

According to Volkan newspaper (14.07.13) two newspapers and two TV stations are asking for money from election candidates in order to help get them elected. The price for five TV programs and five articles in the two papers is 20,000TL, for three programs and three articles 15000TL or for two programs and two articles 10000TL. According to Volkan, 23 candidates have paid between them hundred of thousands of lira when NCFP will publish their articles for free!
