WITHOUT PREJUDICE
Just when you think the faeces that seems to rise to the top in Cyprus politics has reached saturation point, up pops another pan full.
Many of you will have been reading of the intransigence of the south’s current government and opposition in honouring the terms of their Troika bail in loan and their reluctance to put a Foreclosure Bill on the statute books giving the Banks the ability to start repossession litigation against some of their many Non Performing Loan account holders.
Today we learn that the reasons being given by the parliament and opposition for refusing to pass a meaningful Foreclosure Bill is not, as they say, to protect the little borrower and protect their primary dwelling. No, the reason is totally self preservative and self serving. Today we find out that many of the MP’s tasked with voting this bill into law are in fact holders of Non Performing Loans and the amounts involved are mind boggling.

What a crazy system that allows the problem to vote on the solution.
If you think the effluence cannot get any deeper, think again. We still have to discover how many sitting MP’s having acted as guarantors on NPL’s or indeed if there are any in family members names.
Neither side of the island is blameless when it comes to corruption and injustice, so the advice remains the same.
Do not risk your hard earned money in Cyprus.

Could the same situation exist in TRNC? Are they frightened to do the right thing by those with
stealth mortgages on their properties, lest the banks et their cats out of their bags?
Well now, there has to be SOME reason why they seem happy to preside over the collapse of the housing market and the vast number of injustices, and nothing would surprise me any more.
