73-year-old woman in south missing for two weeks

From Cyprus Mail [8/7/2012]

“The husband of the British woman who went missing from her Paphos home two weeks ago today, has made a desperate plea to the public for information regarding her disappearance.

“I am desperate for any news of Nancy and would urge anyone with any information however small, to contact the police, said 76-year-old George Johnson. “It’s terrible not knowing, any information may help.”

Nancy Johnson, 73, has been missing from her Tsada home since June 19. She suffers from Alzheimer’s.

“I can’t believe that she has vanished into thin air. Someone, somewhere must know something,” he said.

A second woman Thekla Christou, 68, was also reported missing in Paphos on June 21. Police say they do not believe the two cases are connected.

Police yesterday said both women have still not to be found.

Despite a number of leads provided by the public, no recent sightings of Briton Nancy Johnson or Thekla Christou have been confirmed.

Paphos police spokesman Nicos Tsapis said that information provided by the general public regarding the two cases was being thoroughly investigated, but police yesterday admitted that there was ‘no new news’ in either case.

Nancy was last seen in Tsada where she lives with her husband George, and Thekla, a well known face in Paphos, was reported missing by her family in Chlorokas.

Johnson’s son Richard has set up a Facebook page for his missing mother which can be viewed on FACEBOOK

If you have any information relating to either of the missing women, contact the nearest police station or the citizen’s line on 1460, where information can be given anonymously.”
