Coming after a poor Summer in terms of business the fire has probably destroyed hopes of the businesses reviving. Editor: there was no mention of the properties being insured, and if this is true then the beauty of Bellapais village centre look be ruined for years to come.

Fresh claims over CTP-era refinery plan – a statement in Wednesday’s CT that CTP went ahead with the refinery plans has been contradicted by the CTP PM at the time who said the scheme had been rejected in 2009. It seems that although there was a lease for the property the scheme itself was rejected.
