All Changes for Health Checks – ex-pats applying for residency and work permits will now have to pay government prescribed prices for health checks. This is because the government is unhappy about some clinics under-cutting prices. Additionally, if tests show a need for it, X-rays may be asked for. This means that tests which used to cost 80TL will now cost 135TL plus any x-ray costs and instead of going directly to a clinic you trust you have to first go to a hospital and then they send you to a clinic of their choice. A Health Ministry spokesperson said the changes were because ex-pats were being ripped by being charged low prices!
