Audit reveals theft at bank – an internal audit at İktisatbank in Güzelyurt has revealed that 580,000 TL has gone missing. Staff have been suspended but so far no one has been arrested.

Ercan fees set to rise… but at what cost? – transport links to and from Ercan airport are set to cost more because rent-a-car, taxis and the Kıbhas shuttle bus are for the first time being charged more than a modest amount for the places they occupy at the recently privatised airport. For example, taxis are being charged 250TL pm for a spot on the taxi rank, previously free. This is apparently to stop illegal taxis dropping off and picking up customers. The shuttle bus will have to pay 186,000TL a year instead of 1200TL. The airport is now run by a Turkish consortium in partnership the the local Kaner Group. Passenger taxes spark rally threat – Ercan passengers will now have to pay an extra €15 for their tickets because of a new tax, making flights from the south even more attractive.
