Malatya Waterfall Flowing AgainMany years ago the Malatya waterfall near Alsancak, North Cyprus, was a tourist attraction which people paid good money to see. One of its selling points was the fact that it flowed for 12 months a year. This all changed when the local municipality redirected it in order to supply water to the local population. From then on, little was seen of the waterfall until now.

As you can see from the images above the winter rain has been so severe that Malatya waterfall has become a torrent. The last time this happened the nearby ravine was inundated and a pathway two meters deep was gouged through it as the water made its way to the sea.
